We equate our success with something we don't have.

Yesterday night, no, just this midnight, I started reading John Maxwell’s Road Map for Success. Dad gave it to me 2 years ago during my debut as one of his birthday gifts. I decided I would read it on my graduating year. I just thought it would be more effective if I do so on that period. I haven’t finished the first chapter yet since I started 12AM.

So far, what captured me is what success really means. Success is a journey. It’s not something we could get on a glimpse. It takes time. It’s a road. But success is not wealth. Success is not happiness. Wealthy people say they’re not happy so they equate success with happiness or family. But family-oriented people or happy people can’t consider themselves successful because they don’t have enough money. It is human nature to equate our success with something we don’t have. But that’s the misconception of success. Success isn’t searching for something we don’t have. Success is finding your real purpose in life. Let’s begin our learning by putting in mind that being successful is finding our true purpose and significance in life.
